ENTITLED MUSLIM WOMAN THINKS SHE DOESN’T HAVE TO FOLLOW RULES ON AN AIRPLANE … GETS A RUDE AWAKENING! [VIDEO]

A Muslim flight attendant was in for a rude awakening last month when she refused to serve alcohol on her flights.

Charee Stanley, a Detroit-based flight attendant for ExpressJet, says that she was wrongfully suspended from her job for refusing to serve alcohol to passengers, citing her religious beliefs. According to Freep, Stanley filed a discrimination complaint on Tuesday with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

ExpressJet had done everything they could to accommodate Stanley’s religious beliefs, allowing her to make arrangements with other flight attendants on duty to have them serve alcohol. Lena Masri, an attorney with the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, admitted that Stanley was suspended only after one of her colleagues complained.

Masri went on to say that nobody “should have to choose between their career and religion,” and that employers must “provide a safe environment where employees can feel they can practice their religion freely.”Stanley, 40, began working for the Atlanta-based airline three years ago. During the time period she was working for the company, she converted to Islam, and first approached her supervisors about not serving alcohol back in June. She was put on unpaid leave for a year after one of her coworkers complained.

“She was placed on unpaid leave for following the instructions that ExpressJet airlines gave her,” Masri said.

ExpressJet has released a statement saying that they do not comment on specific personal matters such as this one.

“At ExpressJet, we embrace and respect the values of all of our team members. We are an equal opportunity employer with a long history of diversity in our workforce,” the statement read.

I OWN THE AIRLINE I MAKE THE RULES IF YOU CANNOT WORK WITHIN THE RULES YOUR FIRED HOW MANY TIMES AND HOW MANY WAYS DOES IT HAVE TO BE SAID, AND THE SAME APPLIES TO SPORTS EVENTS, YOU STAND FOR THE NATIONAL ANTHUM OR YOUR FIRED ITS THAT SIMPLE, I OWN THE STAGE YOUR PLAYING ON AND I WRIGHT YOUR CHECK, STAND OR LEAVE YOUR CHOICE.

When you apply for a job you know what you’ll be ask to do, so if your faith forbids you to do the job then why apply, that would be like a muslim applying for a job in a pork processing plant.then saying you can’t do the job because of your religion, .     & all duties & job description she needs to be fired. She shouldn’t ask others to serve the alcohol.

She knew the job description when applying and if not for sure when hired, there was training, etc… IF she could not DO the job she was hired for then she should not have applied there. she was rightfully terminated and has no case as far as I can see. So no food service jobs due to meat restrictions, no bar or server or catering jobs so what CAN you do? If you don’t like how we live, go back and pound your own sand!!

  9. She knew the rules when she first became a flight attendant. She cannot transfer her duties to another flight attendant and believe that it is ok. She should have resigned now that she has become Muslim and it now conflicts with her religion.

If something changes, like your religion, and you can no longer do THAT job, go get a different one! These are all YOUR choices!! You CHOSE to apply for that position.   20. This woman knew that as a flight attendant (her decision), she would need to serve alcohol to passengers. When she converted to Islam (her decision), she still knew that her job required her to serve alcohol to passengers and it is very unfair of her to expect others to do this service for her as well as their position. Now, given her religious beliefs, since she had converted to Islam, she should have asked to be transferred to another type of position with the airlines if possible even if it meant taking a cut in salary. There are things you do in honor of your religious beliefs. People must stop expecting everyone to make exceptions for them because of their race or religion.
